Appliance Maintenance Tips:

Refrigerator/Freezer tips:

You should never fill your refrigerator with too much food products. If you do so it can block the evaporator plate, that is located at the back of the refrigerator, and this will cause poor cold air circulation which sometimes leads to your groceries over cooling. Make sure to always have your thermostat adjusted to the right setting, you can look at the manufactures manual if your not sure how to set it.  If ice accumulates in your freezer never remove it with a sharp object because you might  rupture the metal pipes that run through your freezer called the evaporator coils.

Dishwasher tips:

Before placing your dishes in your dishwasher make sure to rinse them properly. Some people think that their dishwasher is broken because their dishes don’t come out spotless after a cycle, but the main cause is that their dishes were not rinsed right before they loaded them into the machine. So to avoid residues left on the dishes make sure the rinse them properly beforehand. Also, before starting a cycle check that the rotating spray arms are not blocked by anything and check that the port holes are not clogged up with food. Always ensure that your filter is clean and that your salt container unit contains salt.

Oven tips:

For you safety and the safety of your family when you oven is not in use always verify that the isolator switch, which is the main cooker switch on the wall, is turned off.  If your oven has a self cleaning moden or if your oven is a textured oven, consult to your manufacturer’s handbook. If your oven is a regular non-self cleaning oven, then clean it carefully in detail after you use it to avoid the built up of greases. Because this can cause the oven to smoke and in some cases a build up of grease can cause serious damage.

Washing Machine tips:

You should always be careful when loading your washer. Here are 2 reasons why you should never overload your washing machine: 1) This may harm the washing machine drum if you overloaded your washer constantly. 2) The washing machine will not wash your clothes properly. Before loading your washer with your laundry, check the pockets of your clothing and remove items such as coins, nails, screws,  jewelry, badges and so on. Because if you do not remove these objects on many occasions these objects break washers and cause damage and can cost you unnecessary expenses. Also, never put too much detergent in your box compartment because it can block the hose leading from the washer detergent drawer to the drum and then your clothes will not be washed thoroughly. You should also clean the filter every few months.

Dryer tips:

Clean your dryer’s filter on a regular basis. This needs to be done to help the airflow dry your laundry. If your filter is not cleaned thoroughly and on a regular basis, it can lead to failure of the protective thermostat. Always separate your laundry before placing in your dryer so that your laundry can dry faster and the results will end up helping you save on energy costs. This will also help reduce the risk of parts having to be replaced thermostats from overheating due to overloading.
